Once Again
Rehearsal and repetition: formal recurrence, relational familiarity and demands for authenticity.
P4 Research Series · 8 October 2026
A work must take form, yet the people in it cannot be fully resolved by that form.
Six independent essays on P4’s Shoot Self with You, addressing rehearsal, fiction, acknowledgment, bodies, science fiction and judgment.
Read in sequence or enter through a particular question. The essays share concepts but examine different relational mechanisms: the second develops the first’s brief account of the white cloth, while the sixth takes the third’s question of acknowledgment towards public judgment.
Rehearsal and repetition: formal recurrence, relational familiarity and demands for authenticity.
The white cloth and an unplanned question: how fiction changes the meaning of an action.
Seeing and acknowledgment: why greater visibility does not guarantee a response.
Bodies and comedy: local adjustment through heat, cold, hand positions and laughter.
Science fiction and space: directions, tower calls and plot proposals reorganise a room.
Judgment and equality: a low score for a work cannot decide a person’s capacity to create.
The outline plans six parts, eighteen chapters, ninety sections and 270 detailed points of argument, with an introduction and conclusion. It is a writing plan, not eighteen completed chapters; these six independent essays are not simply its first six chapters.
