A project can begin before a finished script exists
The 2020 P4U rules connect an initiator’s creative proposal, the work of a group and observation by the 3P Group. Initiating a project means making something available for others to enter, respond to and help develop. The rules provide an organisational starting point; later records show that projects do not all follow the same form.
In 2023, Lifeng, also named Zhang Lei, initiated Chengfeng Polang through the personal testimony Ruma. Its call lets readers follow how an individual account became an invitation to work with others. Four Eyes proposed a four-part experimental play and its own process of recruitment and discussion.

Follow the proposal, invitation and response
Begin by noting the initiator and the proposed work, then follow the responses: a character text, a first meeting, a rehearsal or a documentary role. These connections explain the process more clearly than treating every project as one institutional style.
Reading calls beside later accounts also makes change visible. A proposal can acquire collaborators, alter its form or remain a documented beginning. P4’s role is part of that environment, while each project’s own credits remain essential to understanding it.
